Australia Awards South and West Asia

We are pleased to inform you that, for purposes of administrative efficiency and to create new cross-program opportunities for scholars and alumni, the Australia Awards – South Asia and Australia Awards – Mongolia programs have been merged into a single program: Australia Awards – South Asia & Mongolia.

This merger will not impact in any way on the identity of the individual country programs that comprise Australia Awards – South Asia & Mongolia. Country programs in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, as well as in Mongolia, will continue to be focused on working with and creating opportunities for scholars and alumni locally and will continue to maintain country-level webpages under the Australia Awards – South Asia & Mongolia umbrella site. The merger will not affect any of the existing projects and initiatives available through the country programs.

At the same time, the merger will bring new opportunities for scholars and alumni, who will be able to benefit from the greater shared resources available and participate in whole-of-Program initiatives.

This merger has been made at the direction of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and has the full backing of the Australian Diplomatic Missions throughout South Asia and in Ulaanbaatar.
