Applications are open for internship grants

An exciting new way to enhance your Scholarship journey

Australia Awards – South Asia & Mongolia is committed to providing opportunities for scholars to have positive, educational, and engaging experiences in Australia, creating valuable personal and professional connections.

Internships offer one such opportunity. Current scholars can apply for an internship placement in a relevant field according to their area of study while in Australia.

For the current round, applications must be submitted by Monday, 9 January 2022, for any opportunity from January 2023 to June 2023. Scholars will be informed of their acceptance in mid-January 2023.

Scholars will work closely with InternMatch to find an appropriate opportunity that aligns with one of the themes outlined below, and enhances their Development Impact and Linkages Plan (DILP).

Scholars are encouraged to identify opportunities that align with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Partnerships for Recovery framework or the priority areas in the Australia Awards Global Strategic Framework 2021–2024, which include:

  • health security
  • stability
  • economic recovery
  • agriculture, fisheries & water
  • building resilience
  • education and health
  • effective governance
  • gender equality and women’s empowerment
  • infrastructure, innovation & trade.

Please note that Australia Awards – South Asia & Mongolia will not be responsible for finding an appropriate internship for a scholar.

Internship grants will be awarded through a competitive selection process. Please read and ensure you understand the eligibility and assessment criteria and application process below, prior to applying.
